On a forgotten High Street, Pakistani newsagent Malik Khan is running his business into the ground. His family are concerned. The food is out-of-date, packages are missing and he’s tired of staying competitive. An inventor at heart, the shop was never his true calling.

His only real friend is Terri, a homeless woman, endlessly shuffled between shelters and social workers. Longing to get clean, she finds refuge in light hearted banter with Malik at the shop. Despite having little in common, they are both victims of a system that has failed them. So, when Terri presents Malik with a new business idea, he jumps at the thought of getting rich quick, and encourages Terri to also find a way out of her predicament.

Balancing humour with emotional depth, the story reveals the resilience of those contending with poverty, racism and survival in Britain today. It asks what it truly costs to find home, dignity, and purpose when the world has left you behind.

A portion of the box office earnings will be donated to local food bank and housing support charity, Living Well Bromley.
