The premiere of a new play from the team behind previous smash-hit shows THE MAN IN THE SHED, THE EAGLE AND THE SEAGULL, and CHET BAKER – LET’S GET LOST.

“Imagine that you must place bet after bet on a roulette wheel… And you are always compelled to bet more than you can afford, always more than last time.”

LUCKY DOG examines the nature of the chronic gambling addict, and is the latest work from award winning playwright Tim Connery.

An unnamed gambler arrives in a British seaside town to escape the troubles his gambling has caused him. He meets and falls in love with Jenny, a vet’s nurse who seems to understand him better than he does himself. He builds a new life with Jenny, and even adopts a dog, Mister Lucky, with her, but the spin of the roulette wheel proves too irresistible an attraction for the gambler.

Although he loves Jenny and the life they are creating together, he must keep going back to the tables, funding his habit with the dangerous help of local loan shark Ugly Pete. The Gambler is risking his future by borrowing more and more.

What would you do?

Can you resist the spin of the wheel?
