Have you ever gotten home from somewhere and felt like peeling your face off?
Me too. It’s okay, you can leave yours in the basket by the door.
The Mess Maker is constantly trying to clean up, to sweep it all under the rug but when unexpected guests arrive, she has no choice but to embrace the space and welcome them in. Driven by the desire to unmask, the Mess Maker reconnects with her inner child, and finds meaning among the mess in a joyful – if sometimes chaotic, exploration of imagination and identity.
Written and Performed by Jenette Meehan (Run to the Nuns) and based on her research in Neurodivergence and Creative practice, this solo-show aims to unpack shame and perfectionism, as she navigates life in a society with a very different definition of worth.
